Walt Disney World’s newest form of transportation will begin service officially on September 29, 2019. The ski-lift-type system utilizes enclosed gondola cabins that seat up to ten passengers.

Disney Skyliner will connect two theme parks: Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot, to four resort hotels: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and the new Disney’s Riviera Resort scheduled to open in December 2019.

With nearly 6 miles of cable connecting 5 different stations, you’ll be able to quickly and efficiently travel between two theme parks and four hotels. Some Disney Skyliner cabins feature graphics based on Disney films, attractions and characters including those with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto and Chip & Dale. Other Disney stories taking flight with guests include:

• Coco
• Goofy, Pete, Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow
• Finding Dory
• Haunted Mansion
• Monsters, Inc.
• Pirates of the Caribbean
• Ratatouille

No word yet on whether or not the Disney Skyliner system will feature any soft openings or early previews before the official opening date of September 29th. As is the case with the buses, boats, and monorails, the Disney Skyliner will be free for guests. Stay tuned to the website for more details as they happen.
