Infinity Falls – Record Breaking River Rapids Ride Coming to SeaWorld Orlando in 2018

As we’ve previously covered back in February, SeaWorld Orlando is planning on bringing a brand new river rapids ride to their park. We did not know at the time however, that this new world-class attraction will be a first of its kind. The new ride, named Infinity Falls, will have guests plummeting down the tallest river rapids drop in the world, and will feature a unique elevator style vertical lift. It’s expected to open by Summer of 2018!

The ride will take place on a lost jungle river in the rainforests of South America. Your raft will twist and turn through a lush jungle passing crumbling relics of a lost civilization. Guests will experience the feel of exhilarating Class IV rapids and will quickly be lifted up by a vertical elevator lift for an incredible 40 foot drop into the river below.

“We are constantly looking at new ways to amaze our guests – Infinity Falls will do that, and more,” said Jim Dean, President of SeaWorld Orlando Parks. “From the excitement of the thrilling rapids, to the unique vertical lift element, it will be an adventure that appeals to the entire family. Infinity Falls continues our commitment to investing in our park, and developing new ways to entertain and inspire our guests with meaningful, fun-filled vacations.”

SeaWorld also confirmed that the ride will be built on the site of the Sea Gardens, and that the restaurant building will remain intact (previously known as the Hospitality building.) No word yet on whether the BBQ Terrace restaurant will re-open as it was or as an improved dining location. Unfortunately, the Annual Pass Member Lounge will be closed during construction. The lounge will re-open next year “better than ever,” according to SeaWorld Orlando president Jim Dean. More details on that as they become available.

Ride will be in Sea Gardens area

This building will remain

Animal interactions will still be held in the area, but with a focus on animals native to South America to better fit with the area’s new theme, (which has already been happening in the Sea Gardens for awhile now.) After the ride, guests will get to learn more about conservation and how to protect river wildlife at Harmony Village. There will be hands-on exhibits, learning kiosks, and of course animals to see and touch up close.

Parrots will still call this area home

And we’ll still get to see our sloth friend

Check out the video above, as well as the concept art and images below for more details, and stay tuned for more information about this, and other SeaWorld Orlando projects coming soon!
