Running every night from November 13, 2020 through January 3, 2021, Night of a Million Lights is an all-new massive lights display at Give Kids The World Village in Kissimmee. Open to the public, with tickets available for purchase now, guests will be able to explore the village filled with millions of lights, 50 holiday wire frames, four photo spots, socially distanced Santa, three accessible attractions, and more.
Night of a Million Lights will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily, with staggered entry times to promote social distancing. Mask wearing will be required for all guests. Your ticket also includes complimentary ice cream and hot cocoa, as well as unlimited access to the Village’s wheelchair-accessible rides and attractions. Most importantly, this event will help raise funds to ensure that the wishes of critically ill children can return bigger and better than ever before once the time is right for Give Kids the World Village to reopen.
Thanks to a donation of more than three million sparkling lights from Walt Disney World, Night of a Million Lights could help fill a void that was left when The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios ended to make way for the upcoming Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge after its 2015 holiday season.
More than 45 partners from Central Florida, and around the country, have volunteered to adopt and help decorate one of the resort’s 166 family villas with their own unique designs. They include SeaWorld, LEGOLAND, the Kennedy Space Center, Hasbro, IAAPA, Margaritaville Hotels and Resorts, and many others. In addition, Universal Orlando Resort will be decking out Marc’s Dino Putt mini golf course with holiday inclusive lighting and musical elements.
Proceeds from the event will support Give Kids The World’s mission to provide wish vacations for critically ill children and their families. When wish-granting organizations receive a request from a critically ill child who wants to visit Central Florida, Give Kids The World fulfills the wish – providing each child and his/her family with a magical week-long stay at absolutely no cost.
Give Kids The World Village closed to wish families temporarily in mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, delaying nearly 6,000 wishes. Night of a Million Lights is designed to raise funds to ensure that the wishes of critically ill children can be fulfilled once the Village reopens.
Dazzling lights and larger-than-life holiday displays will illuminate the 89-acre resort, including a glittering 150-foot tunnel along the Avenue of Angels; more than 50 holiday-themed wireframes, some spanning more than 40 feet; an enchanting gingerbread arch; and out-of-this-world space-themed decor adorning the Village’s delectable new centerpiece, Henri’s Starlite Scoops.
Tickets are available for advanced purchase at www.gktw.org/lights. All event attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets early, as there will be a limited supply each night. A limited number of tickets will also be available for purchase at the gate, but guests are encouraged to purchase their tickets online in advance to ensure access to the event.
The event is located at Give Kids The World Village, 210 S. Bass Rd., Kissimmee, FL 34746. Night of a Million Lights will operate rain or shine, unless weather prohibits viewing the lights. In the event a cancellation is necessary, tickets purchased for that night’s event will be refunded.
All guests will be required to wear a mask for the duration of the event unless sitting and actively eating or drinking inside the relaxation area at the Park of Dreams pool. More details can be found at the event’s official website. Photos: GKTWV
