Why I decided to visit the Magic Kingdom during Pro Bowl weekend, I do not know. While I was there I did happen to get photos of the many closures and refurbishments going on around the Kingdom. Thankfully we had FastPass+ and dining reservations already set for the day, or I’m not sure we would’ve been able to do much of anything. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was at a 210 minute wait while we were there, yikes!
The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed for refurbishment since Januray 9th, and will remain closed until March 2, 2017. The Hall of Presidents is closed while they add in the new president and is scheduled to re-open June 29, 2017. Stitch’s Great Escape continues to operate on a seasonal basis and is not currently open at this time. Other minor work continues around the park including scrims up over the main entrance to the Emporium and work walls around the back section of Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland. Both are open during construction.

After going through turnstiles we can see the front of Main Street Train Station is covered by a scrim

Outdoor seating is being added. The restaurant is open during this renovation, but restrooms inside are currently closed.

Also, bit of Disney trivia: Did you know the ship at the top of Cool Ship refreshments is actually one of the two prop ships used during the filming of the 1986 film Flight of the Navigator, but painted red and decorated?

The private cabanas are still in Tomorrowland, but are scheduled to be removed by February 18th
