Welcome to Universal Studios Florida, on a very hot July day.
The Prop Shop is now permanently closed in the Hollywood section of the park. Windows are blacked out, but there are rumors that this location may be utilized very shortly.
The first trusses are showing up around the park, presumably as the first steps for preparing for Halloween Horror Nights.
A new Shrek and Donkey Meet and Greet is being built in the old gift shop area of the former Barney show in KidsZone. Shrek banners were installed recently.

The E.T. gift shop is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the film’s release with new, limited time merchandise. In fact, all of the items inside are related to E.T. currently.
Two streets in the New York area of the park are currently blocked from guest traffic while pavement work is ongoing.
A small stage has been set up for Blues Brothers and Sing It shows during this time.
The work walls around Revenge of the Mummy have come down, but Universal has not revealed an exact reopening date. The attraction remains closed for extended refurbishment, which was announced to conclude “late summer.”
The ride’s exit gift shop is still open, but inside it is being remodeled back into Sahara Traders. It was turned into a temporary Monsters Tribute Store while the Mummy ride was closed.
Most of the Monster figures have been removed, but new shelves have been installed and the original Sahara Traders cash wrap has returned.
New Mummy-themed relics in glass cases have been added to the store as well.
Nearby, the former Universal Monsters Cafe is now surrounded by Minions themed work walls. While Universal has not announced what this dining location will be replaced with, the rumor was a Minion Cafe even before they added Minions to the walls.
The banners above the entrance have been removed, as well as several themed elements from the exterior walls and all awnings.
All themed elements from the former Donkey and Shrek meet & greet, which was connected to the Monsters Cafe, are being stripped from the building.
No apparent changes can be seen on the former Shrek 4-D exterior. This is also expected to be replaced with a Minions experience.
