Animal Actors On Location! at Universal Studios Florida will permanently close beginning November 3, 2026. The last day to see it will be on November 2nd.

Then, later this winter, the Universal Horror Make-Up Show will be returning from an extended refurbishment. The show’s name has been changed to include the words “Featuring Blumhouse,” and a new logo was revealed. See the in-park video update below for additional visuals.

Animal Actors Show Closing

An opening day attraction, the Animal Actors show showcases animals trained similarly as those used in television and movie productions.

So far Universal Orlando has only said the following regarding this long-running show’s upcoming permanent closure:

“Animal Actors On Location! will be permanently closed on November 3rd, 2026 to make way for a new experience.”

No official details on what the “new experience” for the space would be, or if the theater will remain or be torn down as part of future park expansion.

This was the final Animal Actors stage show to close across all Universal Parks around the world. Universal Studios Hollywood’s closed back in 2023 to make way for their version of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift.

Universal Horror Make-Up Show featuring Blumhouse

Universal Orlando announced earlier this month that the fan-favorite Universal Horror Make-Up Show will be getting a makeover when it reopens this winter.

Now named Universal Horror Make-Up Show featuring Blumhouse, Universal says that more details will be coming soon, only releasing the following official quote:

“In this live show, discover how Hollywood’s top special effects artists have terrified moviegoers for over 100 years — from Universal’s classic monsters to the modern horrors of Blumhouse.”

The show closed for this reimagining back in May of this year, with only a winter time frame given for its return.

Horror Make-Up is another opening day attraction, but just like Animal Actors it has seen several name changes over the decades.

The show has seen minor changes each time as well, including the content for its finale, which started with a gag featuring the screen-used teleporation pods from The Fly starring Jeff Goldblum.

In recent years the show has concluded with a fake animatronic figure that was meant to be using motion control technology. Fans have theorized that the new ending could feature a similar set up, but now with a Five Nights at Freddy’s figure.

None of the Blumhouse properties that will be featured in the new iteration of the show have been revealed as of yet though.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift Testing

Universal Studios Florida is currently finishing up pull-through testing for its upcoming Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster.

These tests are to ensure the reach envelope is safe for the entire length of the track, and to make sure the trains themselves can traverse the track properly.

The next steps may include a full test of the roller coaster, with the trains traveling at full speed.

This attraction does not yet have an official opening date, but is slated to open sometime in 2027.
