Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will be officially opening May 26th, but to prepare for the new version of the attraction the building has been repainted. The large guitar out front and upside-down car at the courtyard entrance have received a new colorful psychedelic paint job as well.
Let’s take a look at these recent changes in this photo update, but also check out the latest vlog below for a closer look at all of the work happening around Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The original Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith only closed two months ago, on March 2nd.
In that time the exterior of the attraction has gotten a mini makeover, as the ride switches to “Starring The Muppets.”
The building and surrounding structures have received coats of gray paint, which help the now colorful car and guitar stand out in front.
The large Fender Stratocaster has gone from red to swirls of multiple colors.
Here is how the repainted guitar looked in previously released official concept art.
The final paint job varied slightly from the art, but still features the stars as accents.
The poster located to the left of the guitar is still covered. The new Muppets-themed poster has not yet been installed as seen in official concept art.
Disney released additional details for the upcoming iteration of the attraction recently, including the full set list of music for the ride. (See music list here.)
The upside-down car that welcomes guests to the courtyard area has seen a fresh coat of colorful paint as well.
An official poster for the updates attraction showcased the colors seen on the car.
The ride will be keeping its theming as “G-FORCE Records,” incorporating the existing logos around the attraction building as part of the new story.
Disney has said the new version of the ride will have previews for cast members, annual passholders, and DVC members before the official grand opening on May 26, 2026.
