New Sign Installed for Jurassic World VelociCoaster

Alicia Stella Theme Park News

Overnight a new directional sign was added to the Jurassic Park area of Universal’s Islands of Adventure for the upcoming Jurassic World VelociCoaster attraction.

The new sign is located between The Watering Hole outside bar and the Burger Digs restaurant, and has an arrow pointing down towards the waterfront area where the new roller coaster’s entrance will be located.

While the resort has yet to announce a specific opening date for the ride, the sign does have the words “Summer 2021” emblazoned on it.

It is interesting to note that underneath this temporary part of the sign, a wait time sign for the ride is hiding. This will allow guests to know how long the line is before making their way down to its entrance.

Fans of the Jurassic World film may recognize the style of the sign as that which is seen in the movie. Attractions like the Gyrosphere or Gentle Giants Petting Zoo feature the exact same wooden panel style signage in the movie.

Looking closer at the VelociCoaster’s version of the sign, we can see that it has its own blue icon, showing a fast moving coaster car alongside a running pack of velociraptors.

The official Universal Orlando Resort Twitter account teased the new sign this morning, “A new sign is a good sign, right?”

The Jurassic World VelociCoaster is nearing the end of its construction now, and testing has been going on near-daily at this site. Additional Team Members for the new ride are expected to begin training in March, but there is still no official word on a grand opening date.

Be sure to check out our latest update featuring new merchandise for the attraction, which was put out for sale earlier this week!
