Early this morning, regular guests entered Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World for the very first time. Cast Members, select Annual Passholders, and members of the media have received previews in the weeks leading up to today’s grand opening, but today was the first opportunity for regular guests to see the new land.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has opened with one ride, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, as well new dining experiences and shopping opportunities. The land’s second major attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is scheduled to open on December 5, 2019. See photos of this morning’s grand opening below, as well as details on the possibility of virtual queue being used for access into the land in the coming days.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, along with the rest of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, will be opening to general guests at 6:00 AM on August 29th through the 31st. From September 1 to November 2, Extra Magic Hours will be offered at Disney’s Hollywood Studios every morning from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM.
Space inside of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is limited, and the land may reach capacity at certain times of the day. If this happens, you may be able to reserve a “Boarding Group” virtual queue pass using the My Disney Experience app. The app can notify you when it’s your time to enter. You can download the app, and check whether or not the land is at capacity at any time.
