Five Guys Coming to CityWalk Orlando, Replacing BK Whopper Bar, and Epic Universe Preview Center Closing

A new Five Guys location is officially coming to Universal CityWalk at Universal Orlando. It will be replacing the longstanding Burger King Whopper Bar on the upper level, which will close permanently later this month.

The Epic Universe Preview Center will also be closing this month, making room for the return of The Universal Legacy Store.

Five Guys Replacing BK Whopper Bar

The world’s first Burger King Whopper Bar opened here at Universal CityWalk Orlando back in 2009, but it will officially be closing as of Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

Located on the second level, and sharing space with a couple other quick service locations, the BK Whopper Bar offered a variety of Whoppers, or build-you-own with a selection of over 20 toppings to choose from.

Five Guys has been officially announced as the location’s replacement, although an official opening date has not yet been announced. Universal says Five Guys will be arriving later this summer.

Epic Universe Preview Center Closing

The Epic Universe Preview Center will officially close as of Monday, April 13, 2026. It will be replaced by the returning Universal Legacy Store some time this summer.

The Preview Center first opened in June of 2024, to help promote the then upcoming new theme park.

It features select merchandise from Epic Universe, photo ops representing the portals into the various worlds represented in the park, and within the center of the space, the original scale model of the park used during its development.

With Epic Universe having been open for nearly a year now, the Preview Center no longer serves its purpose.

No word yet on the fate of the Epic Universe scale model, and whether it will be moved to another guest-facing area or not.

You can see footage from the first day of operation of the Preview Center back in 2025 in the video below, including a look at how the Augmented Reality app integrated animations on top of the model in real time.

The Universal Legacy Store

The Universal Legacy Store first debuted in 2021, coinciding with the original Universal Studios Store moving to a larger space across CityWalk.

The Legacy Store focused on classic properties that used to be represented at the parks in Orlando, like Ghostbusters, JAWS, Back to the Future, Kongfrontation, and more.

The store showcased original props and costumes, which were on display like a museum, scattered in between shelves of related merchandise for sale.

The return of the Legacy Store is expected to happen later this summer, but an official opening date has not yet been announced.

You can see the video below for a tour of the Legacy Store when it first opened back in 2021.
