The all new Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure roller coaster grand opened today to an army of excited guests. Theme park and Harry Potter fans alike lined up to be some of the first to experience this new attraction in the early morning hours, some arriving as early 4 o’clock in the morning.

The new coaster, located in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure in Universal Orlando, quickly reached a 10 hour wait time within the first two hours of opening. Check out photos from today’s grand opening below, and stay tuned for news coming soon! UPDATE: Video added showing some of the opening day lines.

Despite the extremely long waits, nearly everyone coming off the ride has been singing its praises. Guests waiting in line are asking guests exiting “is it worth it,” to which they reply, “absolutely.” With waits this long with reviews this positive, it certainly seems like Universal has a winner on its hands.

The new coaster features seven launches, a vertical drop track, numerous animatronic characters, and an immersive queue with a preshow.

Even though Universal is offering a single rider line, guests can only get into it after entering the interior queue, around the last two hours of your wait. Express pass is not currently accepted for the new ride, but will be at a later date.

While lines reached around the theme park today, guests will be asked to create a Virtual Line reservation when lining up for the new ride tomorrow. That should keep the physical line inside the walls of the Forbidden Forest, and prevent it from spilling out into the neighboring lands thought the park, as it has today.
